On Thursday the 3rd of June the third yearly edition of the Grand Finale of the TU Delft Impact Contest took place. The last event of the contest was a very exciting and important day for the teams that have worked hard over the past months to make it to the Finale.
Like last year, the closing event of this year's edition, the Grand Finale, was streamed online. Fortunately, with fewer restrictions than last year! In total, fourteen teams were selected to present their project once more on our contest’s stage. Each team was represented by one team member during the live finale at the Co-Creation Centre in the Green Village.
These top fourteen teams, whose projects were divided into the categories Ideation and Advanced, pitched their innovative ideas in front of the online audience as well as the Expert Jury. The jury was made up of representatives from the TU Delft Impact Contest’s business partners and led by Aukje Hassoldt, chairwoman of the jury. They had the difficult task of choosing the winning teams. Two teams per category made it to the Showdown, in which they had to answer challenging questions about their projects, posed by the jury and moderated by Aleksandar Giga.
In the Ideation category, team Biosphere Solar and Veridiproject were selected to battle each other in the Showdown. In the Advanced category, team REVOLV and team Sourcer took the stage to answer the jury’s questions.
After an intense deliberation, the jury chose Biosphere Solar and REVOLV as the winners of the Category Awards. The online audience chose team Sourcer as their favourite, and won the Audience Award accordingly. Moreover, team Sourcer was also awarded with the 4TU Wildcard, which grants them the opportunity to represent the TU Delft at the Slush Festival in Helsinki. The second 4TU Wildcard was awarded to team Coapath. Last but not least, ASML awarded their ASML Makers Award to team Dione.
This concluded another successful edition of the TU Delft Impact Contest. Congratulations to all winners! We hope you will continue innovating your amazing projects!
