ReDi (Receipts Digitalised)

The challenge

Almost all retail stores still work with paper receipts. This made sense for many years, but with the current technology and the coming of smartphones and wearables, this paper waste is completely unnecessary. With the coming of e-receipts, we can take all our receipts with us and never lose a receipt again.

The solution

My idea is to develop an app for smartphones and wearables that a user can directly load their receipt into via a QR code or NFC. This can be done after the transaction is complete. Then, when the user wants to return or exchange an item, they can simply look up the receipt and have it ready to show.
