The challenge

Currently consumers throw away a lot of food, in fact roughly a third of all the food produced in the world is thrown out. This creates an inefficient and unsustainable economy. As the world population keeps growing and global warming is increasing, this is a major problem that needs to be addressed through technological advancements.

The solution

Create a bin for the consumer, where food waste can be used to create biogas through the use of microorganisms. Thereby resulting in an energy source for the consumer itself, powered by what normally would be seen as food waste. This results in a decrease in costs and increase in sustainability for the consumer.
